New Release Tracks

Starting with version 2.4, Price Edge will publish releases with new features every quarter. Before a major release, you will receive an email with what new features to expect so you can prepare and be able to adopt them in your work.

To come closer to those of you that prefer a different pace, we’re implementing a way to choose how often you want new features, and how to receive them by picking one of three release tracks:

Early Access Track
A new release is created every week, which contains all new features and bug fixes. An email will not be sent before the automated deployment, but Administrators will find a notification with the release notes inside the platform.

Standard Track [default]
A new major version is created every quarter, based on the Early Access Track from 2 weeks ago (to ensure feature stability). An email with release notes will be sent out when the new release is available and staging environments will be updated within 2 weeks. After the 4th week, all environments on this track will be updated to the latest standard track version. A manual option is availble to update sooner if needed.
A minor release is created as potential critical/blocker bugs and security issues are fixed (as needed, but not more than once per week), which will be deployed automatically when it’s published, along with a notification within the app containing the release notes.

Deferred Track
Defer upgrades to your instance (should not be more than 6 months after a release is published to the Standard Track)
Older versions will only receive critical security patches, published as needed. Updates are done automatically, with a notification in the platform.

How to change your release track

You don’t need to do anything to stay on the Standard Track as all environments will be automatically assigned. If you want to move to change your track, you can do that in Settings → Platform Settings → Release Management.

Once you set your environment on the Early Access Track, switching back to the Standard will only have an impact after a new major version is published (next quarter).
