We’re excited to announce that version 2.9 of our platform is almost here — rolling out to staging environments on October 7th, with production deployment scheduled for October 28th.
This release is packed with improvements to make working with Price Objects even more efficient, alongside powerful updates to data exports, layout customization, and overall platform usability. Let’s take a look at what’s new in version 2.9:
Price Objects Improvements
This version brings several upgrades to the way Price Objects are handled, giving users more control over what they see and how they interact with their data. One of these is the ability to build live grids from other objects linked to Items or Pricelists.
We’ve also introduced smart refresh functionality in overview grids. This ensures that your data updates automatically in the background, keeping information current without requiring manual reloads.
Another key improvement is the ability to show columns from extension tables directly in your object views. For teams using extended data models, this unlocks much greater flexibility and visibility. To help streamline the interface, we’ve also made it so that icons for linked objects will no longer appear if there’s no actual link - a small but welcome cleanup for visual clarity.
OData Feed as an Alternative to Exports
In this release, we’re introducing support for OData feeds as a new way to access your data. This feature offers an alternative to the standard export process and opens up new possibilities for integrating Price Edge with external systems. With OData, you can connect directly to live data sources from reporting tools and BI platforms, enabling real-time insights without the need for repeated manual exports
This is especially useful for teams that rely on external dashboards or automated reporting processes, and it adds another layer of flexibility to how you manage and share your pricing data.
Redesigned Object Linking
Object linking has received a full design refresh in version 2.9. The new experience is simpler, cleaner, and more intuitive, making it easier to connect related objects and navigate between them. Whether you're linking items to strategies, campaigns to customer groups, or anything in between, the new layout reduces friction and improves overall usability.
Formatting in Grids and Overviews
We’re adding column- and row-level conditional formatting across all overview and grid views in the platform. This powerful feature lets you define rules that highlight specific values, flag exceptions, or visually differentiate rows based on their contents.
For example, you might choose to highlight prices above a certain threshold, flag inactive items, or color-code rows based on performance metrics. The result is a much more dynamic and insightful experience when working with large datasets - helping you spot trends and take action more quickly.
Reports Tab Enabled for All Price Object Detail Views
With this release, the Reports tab is now available across all price object detail views — not just a select few. This provides consistent access to key analytics and performance insights, no matter which object you’re working with.
UI Improvements in the Top Menu
We’ve made subtle refinements to the fonts and colors used in the top navigation menu. These adjustments bring a cleaner, more modern feel to the interface and improve overall readability without changing how you navigate the platform.
While this is a mostly visual update, it reflects our ongoing effort to improve design consistency and provide a more polished experience across the board.
Additional Enhancements
Version 2.9 also introduces several helpful enhancements across different areas of the platform. The support for Custom Endpoints has been expanded to include GET parameters, limiting return objects, and handling more complex object structures. This gives developers and integration teams more flexibility when working with APIs and building custom solutions.
We’ve also made improvements to Dashboard Widgets, which now support plugin-based widgets and custom chart configurations. This enables more personalized and visually compelling dashboards for teams tracking pricing performance or operational metrics.
The Automations interface has also received a UI upgrade, making it easier to build, manage, and troubleshoot automation flows. The new layout improves visibility and usability, helping teams maintain control over their automated processes.
Bugs and Fixes
As always, version 2.9 includes a round of bug fixes and performance improvements across the platform. These under-the-hood updates ensure a smoother, more reliable experience and support the stability of new and existing features.
We hope you enjoy the enhancements in version 2.9 and look forward to hearing how they support your work. If you have any questions about the release or would like a deeper walkthrough of any features, don’t hesitate to reach out to your Customer Success contact.
